Christmas feeling :)

Namaste
Happy Christmas to everyone, I hope you all had great time and that Father Christmas has bring you the Love ,peace and Joy that you deserve.
On this day we went to Ganesh temple and Lhasa had the great luck to get on the elephant, the taxi driver was a friend of the man and took Lhasa to get on. She loved it but said the hairs are really hard on his head and it was hitching :)
The manual washing machine make me think that the modern world make us stop to think and so make us stop all appreciation. I had to go fill up the bucket of water to fill in the washing machine and I am going back to push the button “Spin”. I love it.
We manage anyway to have a warm shower by heating up some water on the gas and put it all in a bucket; it made us laugh so much.
Apart from that, hopefully in a previous life I experienced being a princess in India, oh i mean a cow. Yes literally a cow. They are having a great life here and they are pretty and fat :) They are the princess of the road as you have to stop and wait they cross the road even in the city or on the high way. Lhasa really loved them but she is too afraid to touch them.
Regarding the police here it is really funny, today they were playing badminton and they are so smiley. Everyone is so smiley here.
There are many people from abroad here but the exchange and life seems to be a good between the Tamil people and the rest of the world.
I am lucky because my friend here is Hindi so we are buying everything half price which obviously mean that I have bought enough clothes for a life time :) and so did Lhasa. Also I went to do some ID picture and the guy came with a small digital camera and I had to stand against the wall and smile.. When I think we make it all so complicated back in Europe. I will see tomorrow the result of this photo.
I didn’t have the feeling of wanting to change the world here even so there are many people begging for money, especially outside the temple. I see people here are quite generous and many of the Hindi don’t hesitate sharing their money. It hasn’t occurred to me to try to change the Indian world. In exchange it has occurred to me to reeducate myself on real life.
I haven’t take many picture yet because I want to take everything with my eyes first. And make it all real. I will do soon.
I hope everyone is feeling great; we will be back for the next adventure :)

My birthday in India :)
Posted by BettyLhasa at 17:10 Labels: birthday india
Namaste my friend,
Well this is day 2 in India and yet it seems that i have lived here such a long time. I always wonder what people meant when they spoke about India. All the people that i know loved it. I met a friend who had tea with us today again, he is a very wise India man, he said: " India: You rather love it or hate it".I Love it !! ;)
So what was India today: I woke up at 9 am and my first thought went to: "I am 32 today" and my second thought went to: "And i am in India... Wow". I had a lovely breakfast, when i say lovely it is not only for the food but also for the so friendly and smiley people, there is something in the air here which give you the smile. I have to say the sunshine and heat are amazing. Especially when i know that winter is taking place in Europe.
I love to see full family on bike and i love when my friend come and get Lhasa and me and we all go on the motorbike to the next door village.
In the afternoon i did shopping , i bought 4 trousers and 4 tee shirts which are amazingly beautiful and it costed 1200 indian rupees (about 18 €), i also purchase some hand made flip flop for 350 Indian rupees (5 €), it is really amazing. It seems that all this year i spend so much money on clothes and shoes.
The stronger feeling i have for the moment is Freedom, India give me the sense of it. I see many people from the rest of the world also and everyone have their own style and it matters to no one.
To finish for now i will say that even in a crowded city there is no sense of individualism or superiority. Even the Indian man living on the street is smiling. Why? Because they are so happy and grateful to be alive. Worry doesn't seem to be part of the local dictionary. So what does it do to have my birthday in India? A memory for a lifetime :) Some food for my soul :) I am happy to have made this choice of coming to India. Lhasa loves it so much she all ready go to play freely on the grass next to the restaurant. It is really great to hear her laugh at all time.
Tomorrow we are off to see the elephants.
Oh and pictures will come soon, here is one of our lunch ;)
Blessings.

Hello everyone,
this morning i got up early and walk in Paris towards the Indian ambassy or better say VHS Indian Visa. When i got there there were hardly anyone waiting, i said i wanted to make an urgent visa to go on tuesday 20/12 (+54 € each passeport) but the person there told me that i needed a return ticket which i didn t have. So i went to a travel agency near by and find there a lovely woman who gave me a paper of return reservation just like this. Thank youuu M'dam :)
I had to go back this afternoon and they gave me our two passeports signed and stamped for an entry visa.
I am back to Spain tomorrow and me and Lhasa are off in 5 days... Wow

Booking the tickets
Posted by BettyLhasa at 13:24
That's it !! We have booked the tickets. We are travelling from Valencia to Barcelona, then from Barcelona to Doha (Qatar) and from Qatar to Chennai the 20th of December 2011. It will take us a total of 15 hours 55 minutes to get there.
We will then be living few kilometers away from Pondicherry and few minutes away from Auroville situated in the south east coast of India.
Pondicherry is hot and humid throughout the year. Summers during March to April have a maximum mercury level of 41°C. From October to November the evenings are cool. The monsoons are between June and August. Winters (December to February) are somewhat pleasant with minimum just touching 25°C.
It doesn't seem that we will have a winter this year :D
